English double-barrel exposed hammer shotgun by Army & Navy CSL Co of London. 30” barrels, double triggers, standard extractors, English style straight stock, light scroll engraving, serial #6028. The bottom ofbarrels show original blackpowder proofs, along with British nitro proofs for 1-1/8oz of shot, 2-1/2” shells, and marked 3 Drams blackpowder. Obviously a blackpowder gun returned for proofing with smokeless powder2-1/2” shells. The chambers have been lengthened to 2-3/4” by American gunsmith and have not been 2-3/4” proofed, so not importable to England. The barrels show 50-60% thinning original brown finish. Theaction has been polished. The trigger and trigger guard and small parts have been reblued. The stock has been repaired and refinished, and was cracked at one time through the wrist. The stock measures 14-3/8” to the end of the wood, 15-3/8” to the end of the added English style pad. The action is good and show a side-lever release. Bores are very good plus and show some honing.
