English brass barrel flintlock blunderbuss with spring bayonet signed “Wheeler, London” circa early 19th century. The blunderbuss measures 27 1/8” overall with 12 1/8” bell mouth cannon barrel showing nearly 1” bore. The bayonet is originaland still springs but does not lock upon snapping. The flintlock is in its original configuration with replaced top jaw and screw. The metal surfaces have been cleaned and polished and the stock lightly refinished which is the in Europeanmuseum tradition. A correct style ramrod of later vintage is included. Est.: $2750-$5500.
