Quality, Quality, Quality! That's what can describe this large heavy antique solid or sterling silver hip flask.
The rear of the flask is concave creating a nice curve, making it a comfortable fit in one's pocket. There is a removable kidney shaped drinking cup with the interior washed in gold to protect the cup from the alcohol.
The flask is made by famous quality silversmith Walker and Hall, highly desirable and most collectible; this makers mark can clearly be seen in three places, on the cup, the body and the neck. Together with the makers mark, the piece has two full matching hallmarks on the cup and neck, for Sheffield 1897.
The bayonet style top requires a 90 degree turn then lifts to reveal the cork sealed lid.
Top notch all the way, the photographs really don't do this one justice. Very heavy and large, measuring 5 3/4" tall x 3 1/4" wide. Superb condition.
