English Queen-Ann style flintlock powder tester circa late 17th to early 18th century. Measuring approx. 6” from tip to end of butt. Cast naval brass frame, triggerguard, with bulbous wood grip, signed “Davis, London” on barrel. The powder tester is very nicely made and resembles an early flintlock pistol with outside spring, gooseneck hammer, and nicely engraved wheel and mounts. The powder tester is in very good condition showing a deep uncleaned patina with its original hammer, small parts. The stock shows a few slight dings, mars, and just normal use and is at least very good. The earliest English powder tester we have cataloged ever. Est: $2,000- $4,000
