Manufactured circa 1770-1780, this flintlock fusil is a scaled down version of the British Brown Bess along with a bayonet. The barrel gauges at approximately .69 caliber and has been shortened (bayonet no longer fits properly). The lock plate is marked with a large crown ahead of the hammer (faint), the left side of the barrel at the breech has the letters "FC", and the buttplate tang has the number "13". There are no other markings. The buttplate, side plate, trigger guard, forend cap, and ramrod pipes are brass. Smooth straight grip stock and iron ramrod. The bayonet is marked "TA / SB / TG".

Condition: Very good. The barrel has a smooth dark brown patina. The hammer and lock have a mixed gray patina. There is some minor flash pitting. The brass has a polished appearance. The trigger guard and forearm are missing sling swivels. The stock is very good with the exception of some missing chips around the lock plate and upper tang, a couple long cracks near the stock toe, and some minor handling marks. The bayonet is good with a smooth dark patina with extensive minor pitting.
