19th century pair of beautiful engravings very detailed and both from famous paintings of the 18th century. "The Girl With The Tambourine" comes from England and is from Mr. Alfred A. De Pass's Collection. The artist was John Hoppner,chorister in the Royal Chapel at Windsor,fashionable portrait painter and a favorite of George III who paid for his art instruction. The young girl in the engraving is full of merriment and dressed in a beautiful gown. Light hearted and happy. The other is Mrs. Robinson,mistress of the Prince of Wales painted by Gainsborough and part of the Wallace Collection. She published a number of poems,plays and tales during her short life. Separate sheet of history and documention on both.Excellent condition. Antique cream background. Measure 20H X 15W.
