German Romantic composer (1854–1921) best known for the opera Hansel und Gretel. Four ALSs in German, signed “E. Humperdinck,” totaling eight pages on six sheets, dated from 1895 to 1920. Includes letters to the critic Walter Paetow and the composer Wilhelm Kienzl. Humperdinck discusses the allocation of the main roles in his stage work Konigskinder, a future performance of one of his operas at the Stadttheater in Zurich, his inability to set a piece of poetry to music at the present time, and thanking Paetow for a positive review of Bubchens Weihnachtstraum. In overall fine condition. Accompanied by two of the original envelope panels addressed in Humperdinck’s hand.
