SN: 7431A Lee Enfield Carbine Mk I* Royal Irish Constabulary Pattern. British military magazine fed bolt action service rifle converted in 1905 for use with the Royal Irish Constabulary, utilizing a 1895 production Lee Enfield Carbine chambered in .303 British. Features a blued finish, 20.75" barrel with a collar added for use with an 1888 pattern bayonet, raised blade front sight, rear ladder sight graduated to 2000 yards, metal forend tip with bayonet lug and provisions for a cleaning rod, serrated trigger, detachable 6 round magazine with cut-off on the right side of the receiver, dust cover & manual safety on the bolt, flat bolt knob, smooth wood hand guard & forend and straight grip shoulder stock, brass disc & brass trapdoor buttplate. The left side of the butt socket is marked [crown]/VR Enfield/1900 1/L.E.C". Barrel has an E stamped over the chamber as well as nitro proof marks. Stock has a 1903 dated Birmingham circular cartouche with Broad Arrow/1* and the brass disc is stamped 3.04/R.I.C/1692. Serial numbers are matching on the receiver, barrel and rear sight. Numerous British proofs. Rifle exhibits approximately 70% of its blued finish showing honest wear. Action is smooth, bore is excellent, bright, strong rifling and the wood stocks are good/sound with the usual dings/dents found on military rifles. No Cleaning rod.NRA Condition-Near very Good.
