<td width="100%">
Baule Mask with outside surface encrusted with sacrificial materials and feathers. Inside of mask shows patina in the right areas, demonstrating that the mask was repeatedly worn and danced in. It is possible that this mask was later retired from active dancing, and placed in a shrine. This would account for the repeated sacrificial libations which have built up on the surface. A very good mask of its kind, and one not commonly seen. Height of mask: 16 inches, 40.5 cm. From a renowned and published New York collection.
