It became one of the emperor's favourite paintings and was displayed in his bedchambers until his death. As such it features in the well-known "Emperor Franz nimmt am Sterbebett Abschied von seiner Familie" (Emperor Franz bidding his family farewell from his deathbed), from the cycle "Hauptmonumente aus dem Leben des Kaisers Franz" (Important Scenes from the Life of Emperor Franz), shown behind the bed at the edge of the picture.
