Two original magazines covering the tragic story of the Emmett Till lynching: an issue of Look from January 24, 1956, 10.5 x 13.25, 104 pages, with a piece entitled "The Shocking Story of Approved Killing in Mississippi" by William Bradford Huie, in which he interviewed Emmett Till’s killers and published their confession; and an issue of Confidential from May 1956, 8.5 x 11.25, 66 pages, with a piece entitled "Why The Army Hanged Emmett Till’s Dad" by William Bradford Huie, documenting the story of Pvt. Louis Till, who was executed by the U.S. Army in 1945 after being found guilty of murder and rape. The revelations about Till's father negatively influenced the narrative surrounding Emmett Till in the aftermath of his killers' acquittal. In overall good to very good condition, with scuffing and staining, a diagonal crease to the cover, and partial hinge separation to the Look magazine, and wear, edge chipping, and tape repair to the spine of Confidential.
