<B>Elzie Segar Studio - Popeye Daily Comic Strip Original Art, dated 3-4 (King Features Syndicate, circa 1938).</B></I> Poor Wimpy! Stranded at sea with no hamburgers for a hundred miles in any direction -- how to survive? Why, carrots of course! Popeye, Olive Oyl, and the Jeep all make an appearance in this amusing daily. E. C. Segar was stricken with leukemia around this time and his involvement on the feature was sporadic in 1938. This daily was most likely drawn by another hand during Segar's illness, perhaps by Elmer "Doc" Winner, Tom Sims, or Bela Zaboly.
