Vintage glossy 10 x 8 US Army photo of a closely-shorn and newly recruited Presley in his Army jacket looking at a newspaper with First Lieutenant Harry K. Wick, commanding officer of Company B at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, signed and inscribed in black ink “To Lieu. Wick from Elvis Presley.” Printed information on reverse dates the photo to March 25, 1958, the day after his induction to the Army. In good condition, with Presley’s signature and inscription faded, but still completely legible, a couple light brushes to signature, and overall creasing and surface marks to photo. At Fort Chaffee, Presley received his famous G. I. Haircut and coined the phrase, “Hair today, gone tomorrow,” in a comment to the news media. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RRAuction COA.
