Elvis’s personally-owned 1975 Winter tour jacket originally given to his personal nurse Letitia ‘Tish’ Henley Kirk. Red wool and black leather ‘letterman-style’ jacket bears a large “Elvis In Concert” patch over the left breast and a “TCB” and lightning bolt patch sewn on to the left shoulder. Inside collar bears a Butwin manufacturer’s label and is a size 40. Accompanied by a 2013 letter of provenance from Kirk which states, in part: “I…was Elvis Presley’s personal nurse from 1968–1977. I…lived on the Graceland property from 1973–1983…Elvis gave me many of his personal belongings as gifts while I was taking care of him and his family…This jacket was the winter jacket. They were made for security so that Elvis could see them from the stage…This jacket, size 40, was Elvis’. To my knowledge, he never wore it. He tried it on and said, ‘Tishina, I’m, no…baseball player.’…One evening at Graceland as I was leaving, it was pouring down rain. Elvis put the jacket over my head and zipped [sic, buttoned] it up and said ‘now you won’t melt.’ The next day after work, I took his jacket to him and he told me to keep it.” In fine condition. An incredibly rare offering, as Elvis’s clothing seldom appears on the market, and a charming example of the king’s legendary generosity.
