Color 14 x 22 window card for Love Me Tender, starring Elvis in his film debut, Richard Egan, and Debra Paget, featuring a nice color image of Presley holding his guitar and a charging cavalry. Movie days have been added in the upper area in an unknown hand. Framed to an overall size of 15.5 x 23.5. Some scattered toning and soiling and light pencil marks to top border, otherwise fine condition. The promotional catch-phrase, ‘Mr. Rock ‘N’ Roll in the Story He Was Born to Play,’ as seen on the wide array of Love Me Tender advertising, didn’t play well with Presley himself, despite the overall favorable reviews he received in his acting debut. Even though it was a box-office success, Elvis later confided that he regretted making the film with musical numbers included because it set the formula for his entire movie-making career.
