Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo, signed on the reverse in blue ballpoint, “Elvis Presley,” and also signed in ballpoint by his bass player Bill Black. In very good to fine condition, with some scattered light creases and toning to reverse, as well as a bit of trivial foxing to top right, and surface impressions and creases to image side. Accompanied by a short handwritten note from Black on a scrap of paper reading “Early Elvis, ‘My picture is to [sic] pretty to write on’ From St. Louis concert, Elvis’s Trio, Bill Black.” A nicely signed early example, with Black perhaps shedding light on Presley’s penchant for signing the backs of his photos.
