Elvis Presley's Favorite "Dodge 'em" Bumper Car From Libertyland Amusement Park W/Letter of Authenticity From Stephen Shutts (Museum Exhibited) - This bumper car was from one of Elvis Presley's favorite rides at Libertyland Amusement Park, which was located in Memphis, Tennessee. These specific style "Dodge 'em" bumper car were brought into service during the refurbishing done in preparation for the park's re-opening on July 4th, 1976. It is well documented that Elvis loved Libertyland, and would rent out the entire park on occasion in order to enjoy it without the constant fan interference. The park would charge Elvis $30.00 an hour to rent the "Dodge 'em" bumper car ride, and he and his friends would pick their favorite cars and crash into each other throughout the night. On August 8th, 1977, Elvis rented out the park for his daughter Lisa Marie and her friends, and took the opportunity to ride the bumper cars for hours. Sadly, this was just a week before his death, and would be his final public appearance and visit to his favorite park. This bumper car will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Stephen Shutts, who purchased this piece personally from the final liquidation of the amusement park. Shutts is a well known music historian and avid collector, TV personality and author. He has worked with Graceland, CMT, The Country Music Hall of Fame, and many others, including Rascal Flatts, for whom he created a Elvis themed wedding chapel for their Flatts Fest Tour.
