Elvis Presley and Crew Massive Signed Stay
Elvis Presley and Crew Massive Signed "Stay Away Joe" Banner (1968). An impressive, one-of-a-kind piece of autographed memorabilia, presented here is a 32 x 46 canvas banner signed by the entire cast and crew for the 1968 film "Stay Away Joe", including the King himself, Elvis Presley! Originally used as a banner on the Arizona set of the film, a crew member decided to take the banner down on the last day of filming and had the entire cast and crew autograph the piece later in the evening at the cast/crew wrap party, including members of the Memphis Mafia and Elvis' entourage. An astounding collage of 100+ autographs in black ink, the signers of the banner include: Elvis Presley, Joan Blondell, Burgess Meredith, Thomas Gomez, Henry Jones, Douglas Henderson, Jerry Schilling, Harry Harvey, David Cadiente, Joe Esposito, Billy Smith, Dick Wilson, Gary Morris, Charlie Hodge, Cecil Higgins, director Peter Tewksbury, and numerous other crew members. This is also pictured and featured in the "Elvis Silver Screen Icon" book by Steve Templeton from 2002, the last featured item. This was shown to Joe Esposito at an Elvis convention in Indianapolis, and he verified the history. Some light but expected handling wear and soiling from its original usage on the set, otherwise fine. It would be only a few months after the completion of this filming that Elvis would captivate the world with his memorable comeback special. From The Tom Fontaine Music Memorabilia Collection. Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Since eBay bids are not shown to us until we open the lot on the floor, we treat those bids just like floor bids. In most cases the floor responds before the eBay bid is presented to us, due to Internet lag time, so for consistency we have made it a policy that floor bids are always considered first over tie eBay live bids. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
