Unsigned document, six pages, 8.5 x 11, August 27, 1956. Official letter from the William Morris Agency, "as agents for Elvis Presley and together with Colonel Tom Parker," directed to Frank H. Ferguson and the 20th Century-Fox Film Corporation in regard to a total of 36 suggested changes to an earlier agreement dated August 14, 1956. Of particular note is section 11, which reads in part: "We understand that three numbers for which he has written the lyrics are intended to be used in the photoplay 'The Reno Brothers.' It was not intended that Fox would acquire more than a license for the use of these numbers in this particular picture only; and that with respect to the publication of these or any other numbers which Elvis may compose or on which he may collaborate his company would have the publication rights, subject to your agreement with Robbins Music Company, and if such agreement precluded this then the publication rights would rest jointly in Robbins Music and Elvis Presley's company." In fine condition. Elvis' acting debut came in the 1956 film Love Me Tender, which was originally titled The Reno Brothers; when advanced sales of Presley's 'Love Me Tender' single passed one million—a first for a single—the film's title was changed.
