Elvis Presley Custom 4 1/2 carats Diamond/Tourmaline Ring
Elvis Presley 4ct. Tourmaline stone ring with 4 1/2 carats in diamonds ring - need appraisal - This unique ring was given to Lamar Fike by Elvis Presley in 1970 at The Hilton Hotel. Elvis was wearing it on stage during the first show when someone tried to pull it off his finger while grabbing his hand. Before the 2nd show, he handed Lamar Fike the ring to keep and give back to him after the show. However, after the show, when Lamar handed the ring back to Elvis, he told him to keep it. Lamar has had it ever since then. This was something Elvis commonly did for his friends. The ring was built for him by Thunderbird Jewelers in Las Vegas and purchased in 1970. Elvis purchased a large amount of his jewelry from Thunderbird. This ring comes with a letter of appraisal and a signed letter of its history by Lamar Fike. Lamar Fike was part of the "Memphis Mafia". Lamar Fike was larger-than-life figure member of the Elvis’ entourage. He worked lighting while Elvis appeared in Vegas and took care of the King’s transport needs. Elvis' nickname for Fike was Buddha and first met Elvis by just hanging out in front of Elvis' Audubon Drive home until finally invited by Elvis mother Gladys. (PDA2000)
