Elvis 1956 Benefit Concert Presentation. On Septe
Elvis 1956 Benefit Concert Presentation. On September 26,1956, Elvis returned to his birthplace of Tupelo, Mississippi, for a charity benefit for the Tupelo Youth Recreation Center, and played an auditorium packed with 10,000 screaming fans -- with thousands more standing outside the arena. Featured here is a framed and matted presentation that includes photos, a Western Union telegram from Elvis' manager Col. Parker to show managers Tom Diskin and Oscar Davis, a typed memo regarding press coverage of the event, a typed line-up for the show (which included the Jordanaires and June Carter among its opening acts), and a balance slip showing the total profits after expenses. All items are in very good condition with only minor wear on the documents.
