This is an original authentic Hopi Native American Indian polychrome pottery bowl attributed to Elva Nampeyo (1926-1985). Elva Nampeyo, also known as Elva Tewaguna, was an American master potter who was born in the very same Corn Clan house where her grandmother Nampeyo of Hano resided. The bowl shows a cream background with a black/brown traditional geometric pattern. The piece comes from a large 19th Century to early 1900’s pottery collection which includes multiple pieces from the Nampeyo family including this piece. The piece is attributed to Elva Nampeyo and is not signed. Overall the piece shows very good well-preserved condition. Overall the piece measures 6”H by 5.25”W diameter. Provenance: From a 90-year collection out of Central Arizona in the Coconino National Forest.
