Self-titled US debut album signed on the inside sleeve in blue ballpoint an amazing three times, “Elton John, April 1970,” “Elton John and Bernie Taupin (all in John’s hand),” and “Elton John—Music & Piano.” John continues his extensive writing on the sleeve, listing the musicians, the producer, where the album was recorded, the photographer and art director, adding a brief inscription, and concluding at the bottom, “P.S. A splendid time is guaranteed for all.” In fine condition. The record is included. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the brother of the original recipient stating his sister worked for Elton John and Dick James Music. One of the most impressive John items we have seen, and a great example of the pride he took in his first album, taking the time to write out all those who helped make it possible.
