Elsa Einstein Letter Signed with Dark Autograph
Elsa Einstein letter signed to her cousin Erich, undated but likely sometime in the late 1930s. In this letter, Elsa references Albert's sailing, and welcomes Erich's partner Walter into their home. Letter in German translates in part, ''It is not due to an absence of friendship that I have not written before now to say that you should come. I truly have been too ill to be able to ask you to visit. Now, however, it would be fine for you to tell me that you were coming some time this week. Except for Tuesday, because Albert will be in Philadelphia that day. / Could you please do me a favor and send me Albert's sailing pictures one more time? Small ones would do. Please accept the enclosed small check. It was intended for you long ago. / Give my best regards to Walter; if he comes with you, he will be most welcome. I am so glad that Lore will arrive at the end of this month; I hope to see her soon afterwards. / Warm greetings to you and Walter...[signed] Elsa''. Single page letter measures 8.5'' x 11''. Folds, and a few spots of discoloration, overall very good condition.
