Two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer (b. 1908). ALS, on the back cover of a 4 x 8.5 pamphlet about his work, April 25, 1977. Letter of gratitude to an admirer of his music. In part: “It always makes me happy to think that my music is valued by others—especially by those outside my profession. That’s the whole point.” Carter then lists three of his books at the top, incorporating his name an additional three times. In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, filled out in Carter’s hand and signed on the reverse in the return address area, “Carter.” RRAuction COA.
