Historic scrapbook assembled by Dwight D. Eisenhower's longtime aide and assistant, Robert L. Schulz, documenting the official state visit of Queen Elizabeth II and her mother to the United States in October 1957. The 18-page scrapbook, housed in a green 13 x 14.75 leather binder, contains eleven original photographs (most with interesting captions), plus ephemera including programs, press passes, and the final itinerary for the visit. The material is highlighted by an 8 x 10 photo of Elizabeth, Queen Mother, shaking hands with Schulz, boldly signed in the lower border in ink, "Elizabeth R." A transmittal letter from the Queen Mother's private secretary, dated November 12, 1957, returning the signed photograph to Schulz, is also included.

Other highlights include a famous photograph of President Dwight D. Eisenhower greeting Queen Elizabeth II; seven pictures of the Queen Mother's visit to the Pentagon; various formal R.S.V.P. invitations, placards, prayer cards, and state visit programs; and the official, typed "final" internal White House program for the visit of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and his Royal Highness Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, dated October 14, 1957. In overall fine condition, with light brushing to the signature on the signed photo.
