Elizabeth I (1558-1603) gold Pound. S-2534. N-2008. 5th issue. 3rd gold issue. Tun mm, #123, struck 1591-94/5. As the following lot will clearly show, the style of engraving of this wonderful type varied greatly. Queen Bess is depicted as aging but retaining her trademark long hair, which flows in profusion over her left shoulder and a bit to the right, over the elaborate dress of jewels and velvet, which she much preferred, and the classic ruff outlines her face. About XF, a delightful coin having some wear but on an excellent flan without waviness, producing an eye appeal of considerable charm. The legend on each side is as bold as anyone could wish for.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
