Pioneering feminist (1815–1902) who, at the first women’s rights convention in Seneca Falls, New York, in 1848, presented her ‘Declaration of Sentiments,’ outlining her view of the rights and aims of American women and contributing in no small part to the adoption of women’s suffrage more than half a century later. AQS on an off-white 5.75 x 8.75 sheet, signed below in black ink, “Elizabeth Cady Stanton, 250 West 94th St., New York, May 18th, 1900.” In full: “Man and woman a simultaneous creation.” Affixed along the top edge to a slightly larger sheet. Anthony on February 15, 1900.
