Original patent lithograph for Elihu Thomson's method for "Producing Stereoscopic Pictures by Roentgen Rays" one page, 7 x 10.75, June 8, 1897. The diagram features figures of the device and its "shadowgraph" output, familiarly known as an X-ray today. Marked at the bottom: "The Norris Peters Co., Photo-Litho, Washington, D.C." Includes the printed United States Patent Office specification sheet, two pages on one sheet, which describes the invention as relating to "the art of producing 'shadowgraphs,'" by which "surgical examinations are facilitated, the objects being seen as if solid, so that the location of foreign objects may be readily ascertained with a precision not approached by any other process." In fine condition.
