Signed book: A Passover Haggadah written by Nobel Peace prize winner Elie Wiesel, illustrated by Mark Podwal. Uncorrected galley proof in plain yellow wrappers. NY: Simon & Schuster, 1993. Softcover, 7 x 9.25, 144 pages; the book, partially in Hebrew, opens in the opposite direction of a typical American book. Signed and inscribed on the title page in black ballpoint by the illustrator, "For Matt, Best wishes, Mark Podwal," with the addition of a detailed and intriguing original drawing, and signed below in black felt tip by the author, "Elie Wiesel." In very fine unread condition.

The commercial editions of the book were a hardcover with dust jacket, priced at $30, and a trade paperback priced at $14. The much rare uncorrected galley proof is not intended for sale. The consignor relates that when he handed the book to Podwal to have signed, the illustrator asked: 'Where did you get that? There were very few printed.'
