Influential and controversial Greek-born director (1909–2003) of such iconic screen classics as A Streetcar Named Desire, On the Waterfront, and East of Eden. To the end of his durable career he was dogged for his perceived betrayal of Hollywood colleagues during the notorious House Un-American Activity Committee hearings of the 1950s. DS, one page, 8.5 x 3.5, March 3, 1944. California non-resident tax exemption form in which Kazan claims a $4300 exemption for the calendar year of 1944, also claiming two dependents.
