Eli Terry, Jr. Column and Splat Shelf Clock, Plymouth, Connecticut, c. 1840. Stenciled splat and quarter columms, hand painted gilt dial, reverse painted and stenciled glass, unique scene in circle around pendulum apeture, claw feet, nice label "Patent Clocks. Invented by Eli Terry, Made and Sold at Plymouth, Connecticut by Eli Terry, Jun'r.". Wooden works, weight driven, key wind, pendulum clock. Many Eli Terry Clocks which depict a home or building on the reverse painted glass tablet, are actual homes in the Town of Plymouth and surrounding Connecticut towns of the time period. Measures approx. 28" tall x 17" wide x 4" deep.
