Elgin cutlass pistol by C.B. Allen of Springfield, Mass. commercial production of smaller size than Military version estimated at less than 100 produced, refer Flayderman 7C-014. The pistol measures 11-1/2” overallwith blade measuring 6-7/8” and octagon barrel approx 4-1/16” in length of approx. 41 caliber. The pistol remains in very good original condition with sharp engraving, some scattered light to moderate pitting andlight rust that would clean. The grips are very good plus to near fine with nice grain. The front of hammer shows small loss of metal from hitting nipple. The barrel is well marked, the action is good.
