<B>Elgin, IL</B></I> - $50 1902 Plain Back Fr. 679 <B>The Home NB</B></I> Ch. # 2016<BR> Viewed through the PMG encapsulation, or outside of it, as we did, this is one of the prettiest high denomination examples we have ever encountered. The paper is bright white, the overprint a vivid blue, and the pen signatures are two different shades of blue that contrast perfectly with the paper. We have no idea what the graders saw here to remove this note from the Gem category, but, whatever it was, it is certainly not evident to us through the holder.
