Nicely framed collection of King Edward and Wallis Simpson items from the famed Christies' Rome auction. Prince Edward, Duke of Windsor, formerly King Edward VIII, abdicated his throne to marry Wallis Simpson, the controversial American socialite, becoming her third husband. Collection includes: (1) Wallis Simpson's personally owned ivory kidskin glove. (2) A slip with a royal insignia at top signed and inscribed in black ink, ''To / Walter Edge / with best wishes / from / Edward''. Slip is tipped-in to a printing of, ''The Farewell Speech of H.M. Edward VIII,'' which runs 3pp. (3) A business card of Walter E. Edge, Ambassador of the United States of America on Special Mission, tipped-in to frame, to whom the slip is inscribed to. Framed to an overall size of 27'' x 28''. Lastly includes three candid photos of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor at a social gathering. Near fine overall.
