Portfolio of 6 lovely 8" x 6" prints, gravures of very high quality by Henri Manuel, early 1920's, on a silk-like paper that generates moiré patterns, tipped onto 10 1/2" x 8 1/4" sheets that look like gold brocade. Pen inscriptions appear to be written on the prints, but are actually printed in. The first inscription, in French, indicates these are fur styles from the house that is furrier to the Queen of England, modeled by stars of stage and film. Examples are Liliane Baron, a silent movie star of ca. 1914, Regina Badet, Jane Faber, who appeared in the great silent classic "Fantômas" in 1913 (her endorsement is dated 1922.) This is very elegant, in an appropriately decorative folder.
