Framed Arthur Ashe black-and-white photograph circa 1973, the year he finally gained admittance to the South African Open tennis tournament, which he was denied entrance to for years because of the color of his skin. Beneath photo is a printed poem ''Anguish -- Ashe'' by South African poet Don Mattera, who befriended Ashe during his visit and was banned by the South African Bureau of State Security and declared invisible and inaudible soon thereafter for his controversial poems. Photo measures 10'' x 12'' and is framed to an overall size of 16'' x 23''. With an LOA from Ashe's widow.
