Two ALSs signed by two of the last remaining survivors of the sinking of the Titanic: the first, signed “Millvina Dean,” one page, 5 x 7, personal letterhead, May 3, 2002, in part: “Because of the 40th anniversary, I have been overwhelmed with people wanting T.V. and radio interviews as well as dozens of letters as I hope you didn’t mind the delay”; the second, signed “Eleanor Shuman,” one page, 6.5 x 7.75, in part: “I am under a lot of pressure now. It’s been almost 15 years since my husband died and my son worries about me living alone and he wants me to sell my house and move close to him, out in the country. I don’t want to. I have lived in town 62 years and I feel like a city person. Elgin now has a population of 80,000.” In overall fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope for the Shuman letter, addressed in her own hand.
