TLS, one page, 6 x 7, personal letterhead, November 21, 1956. Letter in response to a question on her husband’s administration. In part: “In reply to your letter, it is true that all work for opportunity for the Negro began in the F.D.R. Administration but under this Administration they have concentrated on government contract jobs and done well.” In fine condition. Mrs. Roosevelt worked tirelessly on behalf of minorities through her husband’s administration and the years after.
