I hope you had a pleasant and happy trip”; and a TLS, White House letterhead, June 10, 1941, in full: “I think the idea of having Miss Schaffter as Mrs. Conger’s successor is good. I believe the other matter mentioned in your letter of May 29th will be straightened out this summer.” Roosevelt makes a handwritten emendation to the closing of the 1936 letter. In overall fine condition, with staple holes to the 1941 letter.
