Elaborate silver hilted sword made for the Royal guards of Frederick the fifth of Germany. Excellent workmanship featuring a helmeted warrior pommel with intricate stand of arms on guard with F-5 cypher and otherfancy decorative motifs in the silver work. The hilt rivals Boutet and other European masters. The blade shows light engraving and checkered dark wood grip possibly ebony or ebonized. The scabbard is missing but thehilt remains in almost fine condition with crisp definition and not “rubbed out”. The blade and grip are good with minor imperfections and some light pitting from age. Shipping can take up to 6-8 weeks. Buyer pays all packing, material, handling, shipping costs and insurance. International Shipments will be sent to an exporter and buyer agrees to pay all costs incurred including all shipping costs, insurance, exporter fees and all custom & applicable duty fees.
