This harness has finely detailed edges with heart shaped piercings and decorative brass edging which also has heart shaped piercings. The sallet helmet has a spring loaded pin for securing the visor in the lowered position. Two of the rivets inside the helmet are stamped with a letter "B". The bevor has a falling buff that is held in the upper position with a spring loaded pin. The bevor also has a spring loaded post that fits into a socket on the breastplate and a leather strap to go around the neck. The breastplate has a folding lance rest. There are a number of decorative creases or flutes on most of the components. The gauntlets have fully articulating fingers with spiked brass knuckle covers. There are two fluted rondels with a spike in the center. The sabatons have long removable pointed sections at the front. This suit has a etched steel headed spear showing a panoply of arms and is marked "ANNO 1471". This harness is mounted on a stand and measures 73 inches tall x 30 inches wide x 25 inches deep and is on top of a walnut base that is 6 inches tall x 18 inches wide x 18 inches deep. With the spear and base it measures 104 inches tall. Similar to the armor worn by Archduke Sigismund of Austria circa 1480. A good example of 20th century armor smithed by a master craftsman. Very good, there is some scattered minor surface oxidation and some minor discoloration overall. There are a few minor scratches and dings overall. The leather has been replaced. The sallet has a small split at the front center and the brass edging appears to have been removed and reattached at some point with grinder marks showing where rivets were removed. There is a protective coating on the inside and underside of the components. The wooden base is also very good with scattered wear and minor dings.
