An Egyptian scarab set in a nice wearable silver ring. The steatite scarab, New Kingdom, c. 1570 - 1075 BC, with well-carved body, tall legs, and the base with a falcon standing before "beloved of Amen-Re'. The scarab is set into a silver ring, the shank decorated in relief with double cobras at each shoulder with a facing head of a pharaoh wearing Nemes head cloth. Scarab measures 1.8 x 1.3 cm. The ring is wearable at a ring size of about 6 1/2. Ex Connecticut private collection.
