Included in this lot is a 1930's Egyptian celluloid beaded purse. In 1922 British archaeologist Howard Carter discovered of King Tutankhamun's tomb in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. The wealth, beauty and artistry he uncovered astounded the world. Everything from fashion to architecture embraced this new and wonderful 3000 year old imagery. This stunning beaded bag features a beautifully carved celluloid clasp depicting a scarab beetle. The bag features a variety of bead colors including, cerulean blue, orange, pink, brown, black, turquoise, and lilac. The bag has a beaded loop accents at the bottom. The interior of the bag is a nice pale pink cloth. The bag measures 18” long from the top of the handle to the bottom of the beaded fringe and 6 ¾” wide.
