A wonderful portrait of the beloved American poet who wrote passionately on behalf of the "common man". Markham (1852-1940) earned national recognition in 1899 when his immensely popular poem <I>The Man With the Hoe</B></I> was published in the <I>San Francisco Examiner.</B></I> Matted and framed to 11" x 15.25".
