<B>Edwin Booth: Personal Copy of His Prompt Book for <I>Much Ado About Nothing</B></I>,</B></I> <B><I>The Merchant of Venice</B></I>,</B></I> and <B><I>Katharine and Petruchio</B></I></B></I> <B>Bound Together</B></I> (New York: Printed for William Winter, by Francis Hart & Company, 1878), 229 pages total, modern red half leather binding with gilt titles and outlining and marbled paper boards, 16mo (4.75" x 6.5"). Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Booth's personal bookplate signed by him in pencil is affixed to the front pastedown. Edwin Booth was one of the most well-respected Shakesperean actors of the 19th century, whose fame was later superceded by his younger brother's infamy when John Wilkes Booth assassinated President Lincoln.
