This exquisite Edwardian period barrel top writing desk was originally crafted in England around 1910. The wood is a stunning solid rose wood, with a rich, deep color and subtle grain pattern. The rose wood has developed a stunning patina, which gives it a very timeless and elegant antique look. The design of the desk is quite useful, being a barrel top with a high-quality leather writing surface which slides in and out for convenience. The interior of the desk also features eight small compartment slots ideal for holding small office supplies or letters. Below the desk surface are two drawers, each with stunning solid brass pulls and hand-cut dovetailed joints. This piece rests on four long, slender, square, tapered legs, which remain quite sturdy to this day. Overall, the condition of this piece is very good. It does have a few very minor nicks and dings, but nothing that stands out as more than a charming sign of the piece's rich history. This Edwardian desk would make a fantastic addition to any home or office!
