<B>Edward S. Curtis Original Silver Gelatin Print "Carved Posts At Alert Bay."</B></I> Approximately 13.25" x 10.25" in size and glued to mount, custom framed to 17.5" x 14.5" overall. This image is found in Volume 10, Plate 330 of <I>The North American Indian</B></I> where Curtis describes it, "These two heraldic columns at the Nimkish Village Yilis, on Comorant Island represent the paternal crest of an eagle, and the maternal crest of a grizzly bear, crushing the head of a rival chief." Very fine condition with a couple of barely noticeable spots.
