English scientist (1749–1823) is widely credited as the pioneer of smallpox vaccine. Ink signature and sentiment, “To Mr. Large with Dr. Jenner’s Compls.,” on an off-white 4 x .75 slip. Affixed to the bottom of a larger page with his printed likeness. In very good condition, with soiling, wrinkling, and trimmed edges. A scarce signature of the man who is said to have saved more lives through his work than any other person.
