Edward H. Bohlin Dick Dickson Jr Saddle
The dream of every rider on Pasadena's New Year's Rose Parade, this exemplary Ed Bohlin's "Dick Dickson Jr" sterling mounted saddle is fully floral carved yet modernized with a tufted and quilted seat. It is built on a Miles City tree with 13" swells, a 15" seat, and a 3 1/2" high cantle plus elegant 21" long tapaderos. Mounted with stylishly engraved diamond and half-diamond conchos affixed to oak-barked tanned California leather, the horn and front of the saddle are fabricated of one-piece, heavy gauge, exquisitely engraved sterling silver extending from the arch of the saddle under the gullet. Full 3/4" silver rope cantle binding,
plus corner plates and tapadero mountings adorned with large raised conchos to match the ornaments on the borders of the saddle. Trademark Bohlinmade raised silver buffalo head on the horn cap. Includes matching Bohlin bridle with maker-marked overlaid Hollywood bit and lavish breast collar, plus ornate tapered leather serape with graduated star pattern and six silver mounted leather danglers on each side. Both the serape and tapaderos have a letter "C" for the original owner WH Carter -- whose name also appears engraved on the silver plate at the rear of the cantle. This stately parade ensemble includes the original Bohlinmade and marked two-tone wool corona.
